The infrastructure division of the FS, or RFI - Italian railway network, is equipped with three E402B electric locomotives for towing diagnostic trains intended for monitoring the status of the network, in
details of units 101, 142 and 149.
After a General Overhaul carried out in the Foligno workshops, the E.402 142 was returned to service in January 2021 in the new flashy yellow / blue livery, which currently characterizes all the diagnostic trains in charge of RFI.
