Rivarossi presents the ETR 470 ‘Cisalpino’ in H0 scale
A masterpiece of the second generation of FS Pendolino, now reproduced with an exceptional level of detail and technology that fully captures its original charm.
The ETR 470 was the first multi-voltage Pendolino, built in 9 units between 1996 and 1997 for the Italo-Swiss company Cisalpino. These trains operated in Italy, Switzerland, and Germany under both 3kV DC and 15kV 16.7 Hz AC systems.
Designed mainly for mountain routes, their top speed was limited to 200 km/h. From 2008 onwards, the ETR 470 units received a new silver and blue livery, similar to the later ETR 610 sets. Following the dissolution of Cisalpino in December 2009, the fleet was split between Trenitalia (5 units) and SBB-CFF-FFS (4 units), with cross-border service ending in 2015.
Technical highlights:
- Scale model reproduction of the ETR 470 in the previously unreleased original livery version with a red front band
- New electrical layout with 21MTC decoder socket on both powered and non-powered end cars
- Updated sound system featuring an 11x15 mm “sugar cube” speaker
- Functional reproduction of the third headlight on both driving cars
- Newly designed type 52/92 and Schunk pantographs with SBB and DB collector shoes (coaches 1/9 and 3/7)
- Whistles and horns on the end coaches consistent with the version being reproduced
